Romani settlement “Slavinovici” is located at the east part of Tuzla, some 3.5 km from the centre, close to the Clinic of Pulmonary Diseases of the University Clinical Centre Tuzla. The collected data show that the Romani community in this settlement has about 15 residents. We contacted and surveyed six residents, members of one household. They were present in the settlement and declare themselves as Romani.
One person of working-age is employed and other members of the family live on social welfare.
There is one child living in the settlement and goes to school.
In addition to this family, other members of the settlement are accommodated in their own houses.
Representative of this Romani community, Enesa Beganovic, who was our contact person, states that there are no significant problems in this community.
The fact remains that persons of age cannot acquire the right to health protection, nor find adequate employment.
